In the picturesque town of Ventnor in the IOW, is the tapas bar; El Toro Contento which is run by Spaniards and serves everything gluten free, made with rice or corn flour, unless it absolutely necessary to use wheat flour. Rated excellent on trip adviser, this restaurant is the perfect place to visit for authentic Spanish food. They import a lot of their food from Spain and all the meat, milk, eggs and fish is locally sourced.

My family go to the Isle of Wight often for short breaks and holidays and my parents went to this restaurant recently, my mum being gluten, wheat and lactose intolerant really recommended it. They ordered Wild Boar stew with cumin, orange and rice and Lamb chillindron with dried pepper and tomato sauce, then they had a potato omelette, olives and an option on the specials board - roasted sweet potatoes with cheese and chorizo. For dessert they had Spanish sorbet and ice cream. The restaurant is quite small so they said it was advisable to book before you go.
